THE PROGRAM CONSISTS OF 3 PARTS
Soft Skill Training
Over the course of 5 months you will get both on- and offline training in various employability skills. CV writing, professional communication, emotional intelligence, confidence building and more! You will visit companies, learn from and meet with CEOs, entrepreneurs and other food experts.
Companies Connection
By being a part of this cohort you will be given priority connection to various companies in the food and agric sector that have vacancies. You will also get an exclusive invitation to a career networking event where you will meet with food and Agric companies with job vacancies.
Personal Mentorship
Every selected job seeker will get connected to a mentor that will give you the personalized support you will need to succeed in the food and agric job market. This person will support you in your job search. From finding vacancies and networking to interview preparation and contract negotiation.
Who can apply?
You are looking for a long term job Ghana's food and agric sector (unemployed or employed is both ok)
You are fully available 19th to 23rd of August 2024 for the in person skills training. This will be hosted in Accra.
You have a university degree. All fields are welcome: From communications to engineering.
You want to start your career in food.
You are fully motivated, passionate and forward-thinking.
You are between 20 - 30 years old.
The food industry needs all kind of expertise. So whether you have a background in psychology, marketing, food science, engineering, agriculture, economics, politics or media – you are welcome! We are looking for candidates with all different educational backgrounds.
Dates to keep in mind
Skills Development
Over the course of 6 months, our professional trainers will equip you with in-demand soft and hard skills to help you perform better in future jobs. These trainings will be hosted both on- and offline.
Topics include skills in; planning, cv writing, effective communication, presentation skills, emotional intelligence, work ethics, organization tools, Microsoft office package and more!
Company Visits
We visit inspiring companies in the food sector and hear from their CEO and different departments. We do this to inspire and show you great examples from the sector. A great network opportunity!
Career Coaching
You will get connected to a mentor that will give you the personalised support you will need to succeed in the food and agric job market. This person will support you in your job search. From finding vacancies and networking to interview preparation and contract negotiation.
Alumni Network
After the program you are invited to our growing alumni network. You will keep engaging and expanding your network with other young professionals in the food sector. This network can help you advance in your food career!

The Youth in Food Program was established by Ghana Food Movement in September 2021 – back then called Youth in Agribusiness. Our third cohort was onboarded in 2023 and we are currently recruiting for our fourth cohort. Check the vibe from our previous cohorts!

Ghana Food Movement
A home for innovation and changemakers creating a thriving food system.
Ghana Food Movement (GFM) is a network of Ghanaian and international food actors including chefs, entrepreneurs, farmers, nutritionists, journalists and food activists who are determined to work towards a stronger local food system. GFM's vision is a self-sufficient Ghanaian food system that provides jobs, boosts local economies and enables access to nutritious local food while protecting ecosystems and biodiversity. They provide access to a diverse network and opportunities in the food space, curate immersive food experiences, design youth focussed capacity building programs and offer consultancy on sustainability, youth engagement and food innovation,
Who is behind the program?
The Youth in Food program is initiated by Ghana Food Movement (GFM), in partnership with Ghana Netherlands Business and Culture Council (GNBCC) and sponsored by the Dutch Embassy.
We work with various partners like the Youth Employment agency, National Service Scheme and YFM.
